3D models automatically and accurately scaled

Designed and sold by DeChant Consulting Services (DCS) Inc., the 31" (787.4mm) length aluminum scale bars work excellent for photogrammetrtic scaling. The targets are spaced 30" (762mm) apart . The red retroreflective target diameters are 5/16" (8mm).

The two scale bars are sold as a set and are automatically measured in iWitnessPRO, or optionally semi-automatically measured with iWitness.

The scale bar red retroreflective targets are protected with special protective covers that rotate, exposing the targets for use, then to cover the targets for protection and storage. The scale bar assembly is durable, easy to ship and store. Each scale bar is made from aluminum L-bar and machined with a 1/4" x 20 threaded insert, so the scale bar can be optionally mounted to most camera tripod studs. The image below provides an example.

Scale bars for use with iWitness & iWitnessPRO

Project Accuracy
Using a consumer grade digital SLR camera and iWitnessPRO, projects the size of a passenger vehicle or a room (e.g. a bedroom area of approximately 3m wide x 4m long) is typically measured accurate to better than .02" (.5mm) RMS when combined with Feature Point Targets (FPTs) for fully automatic measurement. The scale check distances of the two scale bars above agreed better than one-tenth of a millimeter (at .003").

Note: iWitness and iWitnessPRO will allow as many scale bars in the project as the user desires to incorporate in a project. We recommend at least two scale bars used in each project.
